Between now and October, Pacific Gas and Electric Co. will be strength-testing four miles of natural gas transmission lines that run under the streets of American Canyon -- an effort to help avoid disasters like the deadly explosion in San Bruno six years ago, company officials announced.
The San Bruno PG&E transmission line destroyed 38 homes and killed eight people.
