Napa County was released from U.S. Department of Justice Voting Rights Section oversight on Dec. 16 - oversight which has been in place since May because of problems with Spanish language election materials, county officials announced.
The release occurred because Napa County is no longer covered by the salient section of the voting rights laws following publication of updated census data by the US Census Bureau on Dec.
