A bill by Assemblymembers Bill Dodd (D-Napa) and Jim Frazier (D-Oakley) designed to encourage economic growth in Solano County and statewide was signed into law this week by Gov. Jerry Brown, Dodd's office announced.
Sponsored by the city of Fairfield and the League of California Cities and passing the Legislature with bipartisan support last month, the law enables cities and counties to offer loans to owners or tenants for rehabilitation of commercial buildings and to create economic opportunities through the purchase, sale or lease of properties, he said.
