WETA board awards $62 million contract for three new ferries

Calling it "good news," a Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) Board of Directors spokesman announced Friday that it awarded a more than $62 million contract to a Washington-based firm to build three new ferry boats.

The five-member WETA Board approved, in a 4-0 vote with one member absent, awarding a contract to Dakota Creek Industries, Inc.
