Roxana Damas, founder and CEO of Vallejo-based Diversity RD Global, is one of 170 women selected from more than 4,000 worldwide applicants, to represent Empower Women Champions, a United Nations organization advocating for women's economic empowerment.
In her role as "Champion of Change," the 35-year-old San Francisco native with El Salvadoran roots, will lend her expertise, skills and knowledge to promote women's economic growth locally as well as on a national scale and abroad, she said.
