AMERICAN CANYON >> A construction crew accidently hit a gas line on Tuesday afternoon, prompting an evacuation of the Los Altos area, according to PG&E.
The crew reportedly struck a three-quarter steel line with a backhoe around 2 p.m. PG&E safely stopped the flow of gas around 2:30 p.m., a spokesperson for the utility said.
