A woman was killed and five children were taken to Oakland Children's Hospital with major injuries when the car they were in crashed on State Route 12 in Solano County on Tuesday, California Highway Patrol officials said.
Just after 5:30 p.m. a woman driving a 1999 Ford Taurus westbound on State Route 12, east of Nurse Slough Road, allowed her vehicle to travel onto the dirt shoulder where it overturned an unknown number of times, CHP officials said.
