Front and Center: Vallejo woman founds horse/rider advocacy group

Horses are people, too.

At least they're close enough to deserve humane treatment.

That was the impetus for and remains the focus of an organization called Equitopia, founded by a Vallejo horse lover about 18 months ago.

Caroline Hegarty's mission for Equitopia (Equi - for horse, and topia - for perfect place) is to establish it "as the global leader in the provision of online and in-person research and evidence-based education on the care, welfare and training of horses and riders.
