Killer of Napa woman nearly 30 years ago to be released to ease prison overcrowding

An elderly man who has served nearly 30 years in prison for murder was recently granted parole because of prison overcrowding, Napa County officials announced Friday.

Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley announced that Edward Voss, 77, was granted parole after an Aug. 25 hearing before the Board of Parole Hearings at California Health Care Facility in Stockton.
