Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley warned anyone so inclined that price gouging after a disaster like the North Bay fires carries heavy penalties.
Price gouging refers to sellers trying to take unfair advantage of consumers during an emergency or disaster by greatly increasing prices for essential consumer goods and services, she said.
