Congressman Mike Thompson on Thursday led a letter to President Trump, urging him to take action to prohibit "bump stocks," the accessory that allowed the Las Vegas shooter's semi-automatic weapons to function as fully automatic weapons, his office announced.
The Chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force joined the task force's 13 co-chairs in signing the letter, they said.
