Be on the lookout for scam callers during this holiday season, the Federal Communications Commission warns. Illegal robocallers often spoof caller ID information and try to use real events to defraud consumers by tricking them into providing money or personal information, agency officials said.
Callers may pretend to be debt collectors, offer holiday deals, or use fear to extort money, they said.
