Luther Hendricks of Vallejo wore his Congregational Gold Medal around his neck at Thursday's Pearl Harbor Day unveiling of the city's newest Purple Heart Trail sign at the Tennessee Street entrance to Mare Island.
"I got it for fighting the war on two fronts - overseas and at home," the 92-year-old World War II veteran said.
