Calls may not be pouring into Vallejo Police Department about a new "cramming" scam, a Vallejo Police Department spokesman said, but some locals have mentioned on social media getting phone calls similar to what the Federal Communications Commission is warning people to look out for.
The FCC is alerting consumers to watch out for scam callers seeking to get victims to say the word "yes" during a call, and later use a recording of the response to authorize unwanted charges on the victim's utility or credit card account.
