On Saturday, the Solano County Public Defender's Office, along with similar offices nationwide, will celebrate National Public Defense Week.
The celebration comes 54 years after the landmark Supreme Court decision in Gideon v. Wainwright, which declared that indigent criminal defendants have a constitutional right to a court-appointed lawyer, Solano Public Defender's Office officials announced.
