Thompson, Cook introduce tax incentives for homeowners preparing for earthquakes

Rep. Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena) and another California Congressman on Wednesday introduced a bill to prevent the federal government from taxing state grants designed to help homeowners prevent earthquake damage.

"As a senior member of the Committee on Ways and Means, Thompson introduced this bill to bring federal tax law into step with state policy," his office officials said.
