A 32-year-old Elk Grove woman was hit and killed on the freeway in Solano County Saturday after her car broke down and she apparently went to walk for help, California Highway Patrol officials reported.
At about 9:48 p.m. Saturday CHP dispatchers began receiving calls about a crash with an ambulance responding on Interstate-80 Westbound at Green Valley Road, they said.
