American Canyon Police Chief Tracey Stuart will retire at the end of the year, but a new chief has already been selected to take over, city officials said Monday.
Though Stuart's last day is officially Dec. 31, she is on vacation until then, a woman from her office said.
The city's police services are administered through the Napa County Sheriff's Office.
