Bean, a new coffee house, opens on Georgia Street downtown Vallejo

Dwayne Zehr of Vallejo said he calls his new free-spirited coffee house "Bean. Organic Coffee," - at 419 Georgia Street, where Nathan's Conscious Cup once was - after his dog, "because she looks like a little black bean."

The New York native said he was a Nathan's customer and knew the locals needed it replaced when it closed, and though the timing wasn't ideal for him, Zehr said he heard opportunity knocking and answered the door.
