Vallejo student wins golf-related national scholarship

A Vallejo native is among 28 students nationwide to share part of more than $300,000 in scholarships being distributed by Youth on Course, that organization's officials announced this week.

Sofia Cruz, who plans to study biology at University of California at Berkeley, was awarded $10,000 over four years - $4,000 from the Tony and Lary Lynn Muller YOC Scholarship and $6,000 from the Linda Rindt YOC Scholarship, officials said.
