Opt-in program to have PG&E remove dangerous trees in fire area ends next month

More than 30,000 hazardous trees in fire-impacted North Bay communities - some 13,000 of them in Napa County - have been cut down by Pacific Gas and Electric Company crews, to reduce wildfire and public safety risk, company officials announced Thursday.

PG&E will haul away larger wood its crews cut down near its power lines in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties at no cost to property owners, but, if the wood qualifies, customers must request the wood removal service.
