There will be extra officers patroling local freeways over the Memorial Day weekend, California Highway Patrol officials announced.
"May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in California," they said. "Many traffic collisions in California end in death or injury as a result of individuals speeding or driving aggressively.
