Vallejo man killed crossing the street here Tuesday night

A Vallejo man was hit and killed by a vehicle that then fled the scene Tuesday night, Vallejo police said.

At about 9:33 p.m. Tuesday, Vallejo police officers responded to a report of a man down in the center median of Columbus Parkway north of Tennessee Street, police said.

On arrival, they found Earnest Howard, a 51-year-old Vallejo resident, unresponsive in the street, police said.
