Thompson, King seek to strengthen background check databases

Reps. Mike Thompson (D-St. Helena)#xa0;and#xa0;Pete King (NY-02)#xa0;led 167 bipartisan Congress Members to ask for more funds to strengthen the nation's criminal background check system, Thompson's office announced.

Thompson and King requested funding to implement the National Instant Background Checks Systems Improvement Amendments Act, which gives grants to states seeking to upgrade their electronic databases.
